Mr. Fred Hao’s practice focuses on the areaof investment fund, private investment, corporate & foreign directinvestment and financial regulation.
Fred is actively involved in the formationand investment of RMB private equity fund, including fund scheme designing,fund setting up legal documents drafting and negotiating, fund transactionstructure designing, fund investment legal due diligence, fund investment legaldocuments drafting and negotiating and transaction scheme implementing, etc.Fred gained a great deal of experience especially in the formation, investmentand management of industry investment fund, FOF, private equity fund andventure capital fund funded by national and local finance capital, and he hasadvised nearly 100 related funds on their formations, investments andmanagements having an aggregated value of more than RMB 300 billion. Fred alsorepresents corporate clients in financing transactions and mergers &acquisition matters, including transaction structure, legal due diligence,documentation and implementation, etc.
Fred has advised many multinationalcorporations on foreign direct investment and operation in China; he alsoadvises many domestic well-known enterprises on corporate affairs. Fred hasadvised many financial institutions on financial regulations, including theestablishment of financial institutions and operation regulation, the financeregulation analysis and application, the structuring of new and innovativeproducts, finance approval and regulatory matters.
Fred has been invited many times toparticipate in the evaluation work of the participation in the venture capitalfund by the new industry venture capital program, National Small and Medium-SizedEnterprise Development Fund and National Emerging Industry Venture Capital InvestmentGuiding Fund etc. by Ministry of Finance of the PRC and National Developmentand Reform Commission of the PRC; he also has been invited to participate inthe evaluation work of industry investment fund, industry development fund, FOF,private equity fund and venture capital fund with local finance capital bylocal government authorities such as Beijing Municipal Commission ofDevelopment and Reform, Bureau of Finance of Beijing Municipality, BeijingMunicipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Department ofFinance of Henan Province and Department of Finance of Hainan Province.
Fred is a counsel member of ZhongguancunVenture Capital and Private Equity Association, and he is also a member of distinguishedexperts team employed by China Association of Private Equity/Beijing PrivateEquity Association.
Fred was awarded as the LEGALBAND China’sTop-notch Lawyer (Private Equity) in 2017 and 2016.
