On the 2015 Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Chinese President Xi Jinping fully illustrated China’s policy towards Africa, announced the big steps of the cooperation between China and Africa in the next three years and proposed tolift China-Africa ties to comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Under this background, Cathay Associates, Cathay Associates Kejie and its partners successfully hosted the Seminar on the “Belt and Road” and Chinese Enterprises Investment in Four African Countries (the “Seminar”). The partners of Cathay Associates in thosefour countries were invited to brief the investment environment and opportunities as well as the legal practicing experience regarding to the investment and operation in those four countries.

During the Seminar, China’s Foreign Trade interviewed the partners of Cathay Associates Kejie and the other partners of Cathay Associates from the Republic of South Africa, the Republic of Mozambique, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Republic of Mauritius, and had a discussion on the resolutions of the tax, employment,arbitration and lawsuit problems the Chinese enterprises may encounter when investingin Africa, which may serve as a useful guide for the Chinese enterprises toinvest in Arica in a better way.
